As artists and jewelers, Right now, is that little space in time, (meaning the holidays proper) the week between Christmas and new year’s where all is literally quiet. Right? We are finished with retail shows or waiting for the wholesale shows to begin, which open in January and February.
There is nothing left to do except the hecticness of our family and holiday.
In my grand family on my mom’s side, we started this interesting tradition that has become very personal and heartfelt over 20 years ago because my mother did not have the money to buy presents for all of her lovely offspring. We are a lot of people. Many of you know that I grew up in a household of 9 women so you can imagine the offspring!
We didn’t know at the time how this would evolve into something so beautiful.Â
We all pick a name on thanksgiving from anyone who wants to be involved in a gift exchange. The gift should be handmade and cost not over $20.00 and we have a month to prepare.Â
The creativity that flows is amazing! Some of the gifts are as such, a box of prepared ingredients for one of their favorite meals they experienced while traveling in Europe, a handmade piñata filled with candy for a family member that needed fun in their life, a song and instrumental written for them and a handmade board game.Â
This year, I picked my nephew that lost his mom a few years ago.Â
He is an entrepreneur and lives in New York City and in his head a lot (since he is a creator).
I am giving him the LOVE package (I have to give a big grin here).
So his gift from me is-Â
I taped his name next to my bathroom mirror and started my day surrounding him with a ton of love. This filled my heart too and I continued this into my meditation because you can’t give a person enough love (I am so curious to see how or if he could feel these vibrations) I’ll keep you posted.Â
I gave him access to my yoga and kriyas that I curated to access LOVE and ABUNDANCE. January in our UNFOLDING group is all about love and abundance while we explore the 4th chakra. You all will love it!
On the practical side of things I gave him some super good minerals and vitamins for grounding and a nice soft black dress shirt for going out in New York City.Â
As artists we all need love and grounding and to feed our souls!
As I build my new YouTube channel, I am thinking of what nourishes our souls as artists and attempting to do just that. Please join my channel and let me know what you think or what would inspire you.Â
I put up just some nice inspiring dance and jewelry performance that you may be able to relax and enjoy:
& a few meditations and yoga:
Please enjoy
Xxxxx Susan
